Save the date, mate
May 08, 2025You got this text from a tenant:
“Don’t you have to give, like… a week’s notice?”
Hold up...
Brother, you’ve been sending faucet updates since Easter.
One photo looked like a crime scene.
Another might've been spaghetti.
Now you're ready to fix it, and he's wanting 2 weeks notice.
Like you’re asking to borrow his truck — not stop his cabinet from molding.
But he still think he's entitled to more notice to "emotionally prepare."
Unless you're in Cook County:
You only need to give 24 hours’ notice to enter for repairs.
Not a week.
Not a notarized letter.
And no, tenants don't get to “decline the invite.”
It ain’t brunch.
