Getting sued for lead paint

Aug 05, 2022

So this Landlord got a letter from the EPA.

The Tenant let them in on a little secret:

The Landlord didn't give a lead paint disclosure before moving in.

* hears nervous laughter *

And that's a problem (asking for a friend)?

You must give a lead paint disclosure & pamphlet to Tenants for homes built before 1978:

  • even if you think there's no lead paint in the home
  • telling them doesn't work (put in writing)
  • keep a signed copy of your records

If you don't, both Uncle Sam and Tenants can sue you.

Give the disclosure or else - dun dun dunnnn.

Ok, enough of that...

Give the lead paint disclosure to save yourself time and money.
