Before you send that text

Jun 22, 2023

So, you want to text your Tenants.

It's fast, easy and creates a paper trail if you ever need to sue them.

You text things like:

  • rent is late
  • the plumber will check the leak
  • that Chevy on blocks in the front yard needs a new home

Before you go sliding into your Tenant's DMs, make sure you do this first:

Get your Tenant's consent to chat via text, email, and things like that.

Doesn't need to be fancy.

Something like, "Hey buddy, are we cool to text or email?"

If not, you could get nailed for an innocent 'Whazzup?' text gone wrong.

Get the consent in your lease.

If you're busy, just use ours.

But remember, a wise man once said, "With great power comes great responsibility."

Or was it Spiderman's uncle?

Either way, get that thumbs up in writing.
